$66.66

Web Special

The Skywatcher 76mm Newtonian is a beginner telescope and it can ideal if there's not a lot of room left in the family car for a telescope or if storage space is limited. This 76mm diameter Skywatcher takes up less room than an average picnic set and is the ideal way to get started in astronomy.

Easy to take away on a weekend camping trip or casual viewing in the back yard the Skywatcher 76mm Newtorian Dobsonian only takes a few seconds to set up. Excellent for the kids and those who just want a 'no-hassles' telescope.

Astronomy equipment has come along way since 1609 when Galileo Galilei first looked through his telescope. Throughout history, scientists such as Johannes Kepler and Sir Isaac Newton have further revolutionized the design of the telescope. To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy, Sky-Watcher is proud to present the Heritage commemorative edition telescope.

The Skywatcher 76mm Newtonian telescopes are usually less expensive for any given aperture than comparable quality of other types.

Since light does not pass through the objective (it only bounces off a mirrored surface) exotic glasses are not needed, the Skywatcher 76mm Newtonian telescopes material only needs to be able to hold an accurate figure. There are no lenses or corrector plates to cause chromatic aberration as in a refractors. The eyepiece at the top end of the reflecting telescopes combined with short f-ratios allow a shorter and more compact mounting system, reducing cost and adding to portability.

Very affordable and easy to use Dobsonian base, perfect for beginners Great all-around astronomical viewing performance. Aluminized and overcoated mirrors. Carefully engineered to combine ease of use, extreme portability and consistent performance in an affordable package. Enough light gathering power to allow simple study of galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae. Diameter: 76mm, Focal Length: 300mm. 2 interchangeable eyepieces
